Faced the following problem. At home, there is a TP-Link TL-WR1043ND router, which distributes Wi-Fi (all settings are standard, channel selection is automatic, WAN is connected from a modem). The power of the router is not enough for the whole apartment, so I decided to use another router as a repeater.
For these purposes, I wanted to use the ZyXEL NBG-418N v2, which was idle (the device was new, it was not even unpacked). There are no problems with the inclusion of ZyXEL'a and entering the admin panel. This router has a "universal repeater" mode, which, as I understand it, is exactly what is needed in my case. When activated, the router reboots and enters the control panel using the new address (instead of the old 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.2). In the control panel, in the WLAN tab, I select my home network, enter the password and connect to it. However, despite the fact that the start page says that I am connected to my home network, ZyXEL does not function as a repeater (connected, no Internet access).
This is, firstly, secondly, after about 15-20 seconds of any manipulations in the ZyXEL'a admin panel, the admin panel stops responding (Cannot establish a connection to the site; ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE :) and it is impossible to enter it again. At the same time, it does not matter what to do in it: connect to your home network or just crawl through the tabs without changing anything. In general, I don’t know which way to look, where to look for a solution to the problem.
I used to use another TP-Link router in bridge mode, but then two networks hang, between which it is necessary to reconnect, which is completely inconvenient. I hope you can give some advice, or tell me what to look for. Thanks in advance anyway!

The ZyXEL NBG-418N control panel and the setup process in the universal repeater mode are slightly different from the Zyxel Keenetic routers and from the instructions for setting up the Zyxel Keenetic in the repeater mode. About the error "ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE" and the fact that the web interface hangs and stops responding. It could be related to anything. First of all, try to access the settings from another browser or other device. Perhaps there is some problem in the firmware, or in the hardware itself. If possible, try updating the ZyXEL NBG-418N v2. Perhaps the ZyXEL website has a new version for it. Maybe this will somehow affect the operation in amplifier mode.
After setting, the error "Connected, no Internet access" on the computer from which you are setting up? Have you tried connecting other devices? Including Wi-Fi. I think we need to check. To eliminate problems on the computer. You can also try to manually register DNS on your computer. And return automatic acquisition of IP addresses (if you set static addresses in the connection properties).
Also in the ZyXEL NBG-418N settings you need to check if the DHCP server is disabled. Most likely, it is automatically disabled when you switch to the "universal repeater" mode. In general, it was necessary to attach a screenshot of at least the main page of the control panel.
Regarding the TP-Link router in bridge mode. Is it possible to disable the DHCP server on it and set the same Wi-Fi settings? as on the main router. Then there will be one Wi-Fi network. Perhaps this circuit will work no worse than the amplifier mode on the ZyXEL. If you can customize it.
