The main features of Tenda AC6 are a strong Wi-Fi network signal and stable operation. And of course, support for the 5 GHz band and the 802.11ac standard. And all this for a very good price. The recommended retail price of the router is 999 UAH. It is unlikely that Tenda AC6 has many competitors. I have to introduce the price / functionality / performance ratio.

It's nice that for the price of a budget device we get a fairly powerful dual-band router with a 900 MHz processor. Maximize Wi-Fi coverage with powerful (5dBi) antennas and Beamforming + technology. Support for MU-MIMO technology. Simple but functional web-interface, IPTV support, control through the application from a smartphone, etc.

The box with Tenda AC6 reads - AC1200 in large print. For some reason, many people think that this is a router model. No. AC stands for support for the new Wi-Fi 802.11ac standard. Well, and accordingly 5 GHz, since it works only in this range. And 1200 is the total speed of the Wi-Fi network. This router can transfer data at speeds up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 300 Mbps on 2.4. The sum turns out to be about 1200 Mbit / s.

But WAN and LAN ports on Tenda AC6 are not gigabit. Maximum port speed up to 100 Mbps. Therefore, if your provider offers speeds above 100 Mbps, then this router is not very suitable for you. Pay attention to the Tenda AC9 model.

The hardware in Tenda AC6 is very good. Main processor from Broadcom with a frequency of 900 MHz. This processor is made using the 28nm technological process. 64 MB of RAM and 8 MB of permanent memory. The manufacturer promises to stream games in 4k and connect up to 20 devices at the same time.

The Wi-Fi network coverage, judging by the reviews and my impressions, this router has very good. Above, I already wrote that 4 antennas with a power of 5dBi and Beamforming + technology are responsible for a powerful signal.

Tenda AC6 appearance

The box in which the router is delivered is made in black and orange style. It contains basic information about the router and some technical characteristics.

The package is standard: router, power adapter, network cable and instructions.

This router looks very unusual. Like a spaceship. He is also depicted on the Tenda website. Interesting body shape and antennas. The entire body and antennas are made of black plastic. The build is good, but I would have made a more rigid mount for the antennas. If you fiddle with the router, then they dangle a little.

The antennas can be folded.

All the necessary factory information is indicated on the bottom of the sticker (MAC address, WI-FI network name, password, WPS-PIN). There are also many small holes for cooling the router board and two holes with which you can hang the router on the wall.

The front panel LEDs are blue. By the way, they can be disabled if necessary.

On the back side of Tenda AC6 there are 3 LAN ports, 1 WAN, a socket for connecting a power adapter and two buttons: Wi-Fi (to quickly turn off and turn on the Wi-Fi network) and RST / WPS (to reset the settings and activate the WPS function).

I'll show you a few more screenshots of the control panel. And for a more detailed overview of the settings I will do in the instructions for configuring this router.

The control panel is multilingual. Everything is done very cool and beautifully. The main page looks like this:

This is how the section with the Wi-Fi network settings looks like:

And advanced settings:

The Tenda AC6 router is perfect for a large apartment. And powerful hardware will ensure a stable and fast connection for your devices. It also has a repeater mode, which allows you to use it to strengthen the Wi-Fi network signal. A good option for an inexpensive home Wi-Fi router that is definitely worth the money.

I would be grateful for your feedback on Tenda AC6, which you can leave in the comments. You can also ask me a question about this router there.
