Organization of a WiFi bridge for viewing IPTV

Hi, first I will describe the essence of the idea. There is an IPTV set-top box from Rostelecom and Huawei equipment (also Rostelecom). Since the set-top box works over an Ethernet cable, and the wires thrown on the floor are wildly tired of, the idea came to my mind to organize a channel through a Wifi bridge. I plugged the Zyxel keenetic lite II into the port for iptv on Huawei (on zyxel in lan1), the device itself was configured in the access point mode.

The second Zyxel'e keenetic lite III set up an adapter in the mode, and already connected the set-top box to it. So, the set-top box does not receive an ip address via DHCP, although if you first connect the set-top box with a wire to the first Zyxel, the set-top box receives an ip address, and then switch the wire to the second Zyxel (with the received Ip address), then the set-top box continues to work. What thoughts, why DHCP does not work over wifi bridge?

Answer

Hello! It is a pity that I have no way to check all this, since there is no such equipment.

If the first Zyxel Keenetic Lite II is configured as an access point, and the second Zyxel Keenetic Lite III receives a signal as an adapter, then everything should work according to the idea. Well, and a strange situation with cable switching.

Or maybe it makes sense to try to configure a second Zyxel Keenetic in wireless bridge mode? Here is the instruction: client mode (wireless bridge) on a Zyxel Keenetic router. Connecting to a provider via Wi-Fi (WISP). Only in the article I did not disable the DHCP server on it, but you disable it.

I rarely come across IPTV settings and don't really understand all the intricacies. It is difficult to give any specific advice.
