I decided to reset the settings of my D-Link DSL-2640U router. I dropped it, waited for the router to reboot. Rebooted, but there was no internet. I rebooted it several times, there is no internet anyway, what should I do? Wifi is distributed, but also without the Internet. Help.

Answer

This is a normal situation and it should be. You have completely deleted all settings and parameters on the D-Link DSL-2640U. He's like new now.

The internet doesn't work because it needs to be configured. It is necessary to set all the parameters that the provider gives. So that the modem can connect to the Internet and distribute it via cable and Wi-Fi network. When we buy a modem and connect it, the Internet does not work either. You need to customize.

Go to DSL-2640U settings at 192.168.1.1, and run the setup wizard. You may have a different control panel.

In the process, you will need to specify the necessary parameters, which you can check with your provider, or look in the documents that should have been issued to you upon connection. Or maybe the provider's phone support will help you set up the modem.

And if the Internet via the DSL-2640U modem did not work due to the settings that were lost, then everything should work.

I have already answered a similar question: there is no Internet connection after resetting the D-Link DSL-2740U modem.
