For some reason I am sure that it is impossible to open shared access to the Internet connection (in our case via a USB modem) for two connections simultaneously (LAN (as I understand it in bridge mode) and a virtual Wi-Fi network). The problem is most likely in the IP addresses. You have already seen this for yourself, when we open public access for a Wi-Fi network - the LAN connection flies. Perhaps there are some tricky solutions - but not likely.
And I think that in your case it is better to connect a Wi-Fi router instead of a terminal. Even some of the most budgetary. The laptop will transmit the Internet via cable to the router, and from the router via cable to the terminal. Well, the router will distribute Wi-Fi. You won't need to run Wi-Fi sharing from your laptop. In addition, a virtual Wi-Fi network does not always work stably.
