Hello! Now you can make a small review and a photo of the portable speaker Divoom OnBeat-200. Which, I think, is very popular now. Yes, this is not network equipment, but what kind of acoustics do we have? That's right, Bluetooth. And Bluetooth is a wireless technology, so everything is fine :)

Divoom OnBeat-200 is such an interesting portable Bluetooth speaker in 2.0 format. The speaker can play sound from almost any Bluetooth source. Whether it's a phone, tablet, laptop, etc. If there is no way to connect via Bluetooth, then there is an opportunity to use an AUX cable (with it there are my troubles, I will write about it below).

Main characteristics of Divoom OnBeat-200:

  • Format 2.0, power 2x4 W
  • Rubberized body
  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with A2DP
  • Working time from one charge to 8 hours. Battery 1200 mAh
  • There is a built-in microphone. Therefore, the speaker can be used as a hands-free device
  • There is a 3.5 mm audio input
  • Complete set: speaker, hand strap, USB cable (for charging from a computer, no power adapter), AUX cable, instructions.

Yes, I know you are not interested. You came here most likely to see a photo of this very column, and perhaps find out about some of my impressions of this device. I forgot to write that Divoom OnBeat-200 exists in four colors: blue, red, gray, and black. I think it will not be difficult to find the right color for yourself. We have a blue color in the review, it looks very stylish. I didn’t see red, but gray and black didn’t impress.

Contents of delivery.

Box. By the way, quite high quality, all made of plastic.

The column is rubberized, and when you take it in your hand, it seems that it is protected from shock and moisture. But this is not so, at least it is not written about it anywhere. But, the fact that the case is rubberized will definitely protect the speaker from drops and scratches. And it is very pleasant to keep it, it is assembled cool. And the weight of 540 grams only gives it solidity and does not interfere with taking it everywhere with you. The rubber doesn't seem to stink (as is usually the case on cheap devices). And on the underside there is a RoHS inscription, which says that the case does not contain harmful substances. It looks great, you take Divoom OnBeat-200 in your hands and you realize how well everything is put together. Those who held this column in their hands will understand me.

There are three buttons on the top edge. Volume control (when pressed for a long time, they are responsible for switching songs forward / backward) and the pause button, with its help you can also answer a call and end it.

On the right side there is an AUX input, a mini USB for charging the speaker from a computer, an On / Off switch, an indicator, and a place for attaching a strap. All this is recessed into the body, which is undoubtedly a plus.

Everything about the body. In this regard, Divoom OnBeat-200 is doing just fine.

Sound

The fact that this speaker looks great and is assembled with high quality is of course good. But, this is acoustics, and its main task is to please us with its sound. I am far from an expert in music, but I can say that the speaker sounds great. Especially, it is surprising how such a small device can have such good bass. Divoom has its own system there. The volume is also great. It seemed to me that there was some kind of outside noise, or something. He plays very well for his money.

I saw a comment that it plays like a 5.1 speaker system :) this is certainly not the case. Do not forget that this is just a portable acoustics with a total power of 8 watts.

Connecting devices to acoustics and hands-free mode

To be honest, I have never connected Bluetooth speakers to phones or other devices before. But, as it turned out, everything is very simple. We turn on the column, the indicator on it starts blinking. This means that the column is in search mode. Turn on Bluetooth on the phone (or on another device) in the list of found devices, select the column. That's it, our devices are connected. The speaker will beep and the indicator will stop flashing.

In the future, you just need to turn on the speaker and Bluetooth on the phone and that's it, turn on the music on the phone and it plays through the speaker. Or just press the pause button on the speaker and the music will play. Many people are interested in how the connection is secured, because there is no password when connecting. What for? When your device is connected to the speaker, the other will not be able to connect. And if you turned off your sound source, then most likely you just turn off the speaker. And the range is only 10 meters. These troubles are not needed here.

I have tried connecting the Divoom OnBeat-200 to an iPad tablet, Nokia on Windows Phone, Lenovo on Android, and laptop. Everything works without any problems.

It is also possible to connect a sound source via an audio cable, aka AUX. But, here are some problems, which I also read about in the comments on the Internet. The sound is two times quieter, and even the cable goes off. If you twist it in the speaker connector, then the sound begins to wheeze. This is hardly a matter of the cable. I have exactly the same problem. So it's best to use a Bluetooth connection.

We use acoustics as a speakerphone

I just checked everything, everything works. Your phone is connected to Divoom OnBeat-200 and someone is calling you. You can simply press the button on the column (which is in the middle) and answer the call. You will hear through acoustics and speak through them the same way. There is a built-in microphone. I thought it was complete nonsense. I checked it, and I liked it :) I can hear the interlocutor very well and, surprisingly, I can be heard just as well. I walked a couple of meters away from the speaker, and you could hear me.

If you are at home, then it is very convenient to talk in this mode. You can also end the call with a button on the speaker. In this case, your phone can be within a radius of 10 meters, or be charged. A handy thing that at first glance seems useless. By the way, when someone calls you, besides the signal on the phone itself, the OnBeat-200 acoustics also beeps.

I read that the phone should display the level of the acoustics charge, but I still didn't understand what's what. The battery level is not displayed on either the phone or iPad. It seems to be displayed on the iPhone, but did not check. The loudspeaker signals that the battery is running out with a sound signal.

Conclusions

I liked the acoustics. At the time of this writing, its price is approximately $ 39. And I think the Divoom OnBeat-200 is almost worth the money. Why almost? I always want the device to be cheaper :) and the problems with AUX. Until that time, it was already possible to eliminate this problem.

High-quality, beautiful acoustics with good sound, which will definitely delight you. It will be interesting to see your feedback on Divoom OnBeat-200. Good luck!
