Does not enter the settings of the D-Link router (192.168.0.1 does not open)

Honestly, I don't like writing instructions for D-Link routers. They have a bunch of versions of the same router model, as well as many different (seemingly) firmware versions. It is very difficult to prepare instructions that would be suitable for different routers from this manufacturer. But, there is nothing to be done, D-Link routers are popular, especially such models as: D-Link Dir 300, Dir 320, D-Link Dir 615, etc. And there are no less problems with them than with routers from other manufacturers.

In this article we will try to figure out why sometimes we cannot enter the settings of the D-Link router, the same D-Link Dir 300. We will consider solutions to the problem when the settings do not open when trying to go to 192.168.0.1. There are simply more cases when the authorization page appears, but the admin password does not fit. As a rule, in such cases it is enough to reset the settings (below I will give a link to the instructions).

This means that we will consider the case when, after connecting to the D-Link router, we type the IP address of the router in the browser192.168.0.1 and an error appears that it is impossible to open the page, the page is inaccessible, constant loading, etc. The result is one - the settings of our router do not open. The page asking for username and password does not appear.

Why can't I enter D-Link settings?

Now we will look at the most popular reasons, and their solutions. I want to say right away that if no advice helps, and you still cannot get into the settings, then it is possible that the router simply broke down. I have to introduce exactly the problem in the hardware. Pay attention to how the indicators on the router work. If only the power indicator is on, then the router is definitely not all right.

1First, restart your router, and try to open the settings of your D-Link according to this instruction. Also, look at the bottom of the router itself on the sticker, what is the IP address to enter the settings. If I'm not mistaken, then D-Link on all models should open the control panel at 192.168.0.1.

Be sure to do a factory reset according to this instruction. Here is another separate instruction for restoring factory settings on the D-Link Dir 300.

2 Check the connection. If you connect to the router via Wi-Fi, then the connection status on the computer should be like this (there may be a yellow exclamation mark next to the connection icon, this is normal):

If you are connected to the router with a cable, check the cable connection. On a router, the network cable must be connected to the LAN connector, and on a computer or laptop to the network card connector. Here's another detailed instruction: How to connect a D-link router? For example, D-link DIR-615. The connection status should be like this:

Also, be sure to check the settings for obtaining an IP address for your connection. Should be exposed automatic obtaining of IP and DNS... I wrote about this in more detail here. Look after the heading "Checking the settings for obtaining an IP address if it does not go into the settings of the router".

3If you did not manage to enter the D-Link settings, then try to open them from another browser, or from another computer, if possible. You can also try to enter the settings from a mobile device by connecting to the router via Wi-Fi.
