In this article, we will look at configuring a Netis router as a repeater. He is also a Wi-Fi network repeater. Simply put, with the help of a Netis router, we will expand the range of an existing wireless network.

There are often situations when a router is installed at home or in the office, but Wi-Fi does not catch where it is needed. Just a small range of wireless network. Very often this situation can be found in large apartments and houses. In order to expand the Wi-Fi coverage, special devices are used - repeaters. I talked about them in a separate article, you can read here.

Many routers can work in repeater mode, it is also a repeater mode. So, a Netis router can be easily configured in repeater mode, and it will amplify the signal of an existing Wi-Fi network. Moreover, it will also distribute the Internet via cable, and you will still have one wireless network (from the main router), with one password. It's just that the range will be much larger thanks to the Netis router, which will be configured as a repeater.

I will be configuring the Netis WF2411 model. It's just great for boosting your Wi-Fi network as it's inexpensive and takes a couple of minutes to set up. You may have a different model, I think the procedure itself will not be very different.

Before proceeding with the configuration, I would advise you to update the software of your Netis router according to these instructions. And do a factory reset by holding down the button for 10 seconds Default on your device. This is optional, but desirable. You can try to configure without these actions, and if it does not work, then discard the settings and update the software.

Configuring a Netis Router as a Wi-Fi Repeater

The main router that distributes Wi-Fi to you can be of any company. I have an Asus. We will not touch its settings. You only need to configure our repeater.

Another important point, place the Netis router in such a place that the signal from the main router is about 30-50 percent. And so that our repeater covers the area we need. For example, if the main router is on the first floor, then we put the repeater on the second (if there is already not a very stable Wi-Fi signal there). There is no point in putting the repeater next to the main router. I think this is understandable.

You need to go to the settings of our Netis router. To do this, connect to it using a cable, or via Wi-Fi, and in the browser go to 192.168.1.1, orhttp://netis.cc... Here are detailed instructions for entering settings.

In the settings, change the language to Russian, and click on the button Advanced.

Then go to the tab Wireless modeWi-Fi settings... In the dropdown menu Radio mode choose Repeater, and click on the button AP Scan.

A list with available Wi-Fi networks will appear. In this list, we need to set the label opposite our network Full construction., and press the button Connect.

Further into the field Password you need to specify the password from our Wi-Fi network (which is broadcast by the main router), and press the button Save.

That's all. You will immediately notice how the Wi-Fi network that was broadcast by Netis disappears, and only your wireless network of the main router remains, but with a stronger signal. And if you were connected by cable, as in my case, then the Internet will immediately work from our repeater.

It turns out that Netis WF2411 (in my case) connects to our router, receives the Internet from it and distributes it via cable. And also, duplicates and strengthens the Wi-Fi network. Moreover, it will be one network in which the devices will automatically switch between routers (depending on the signal strength), and they will all be in the same local network.

Entering the repeater settings

Most likely, when you try to enter the Netis settings, which for us already acts as a repeater, you will be taken to the settings of the main router, or you will not be able to open the page at all. In order not to bother yourself with looking for the IP address of our repeater, the easiest way is to reset the settings on it. And if necessary, re-configure the repeater mode.

You can do the same if you go to use your Netis in the normal router mode. We reset the parameters, and go to the control panel according to the standard scheme.

I really liked how the settings for these routers are made. I have already configured the repeater mode on Asus and Zyxel routers, and I can say that Netis is in no way inferior to them.

I think you managed to set everything up. And if you have any questions, then leave them in the comments, and share your tips.
