Today we have a very successful router model on our review - TP-LINK Archer C20. I have already tested this router in operation, and I am ready to share my opinion about this model. I recently wrote about a similar TP-LINK Archer C20i router. They are almost identical devices. The main differences are in the case, and the Archer C20 has external antennas. If you want to choose the best router for your house or apartment, for a good price, and with the support of modern technologies, then Archer C20, or Archer C20i, is the ideal option. Let me explain why.

At the moment, the price for these routers is about $ 40. For this money, we get a router, which is enough power for an ordinary apartment or house. What is very important is support for the new 802.11ac (5GHz) standard, and a USB port. In the article on how to choose a Wi-Fi router for a home or apartment, I wrote that now it makes no sense to buy a router without support for Wi-Fi 5GHz and a USB port. After a while, you will want to use a 5GHz network (802.11ac standard), and connect a USB flash drive (for example, to set up an FTP server, or share files), or a printer to your router.

Of course, if you do not have a goal to save money, then you can choose a more expensive model. But at the moment, the TP-LINK Archer C20 router is the best option for a home router. In the Archer C20i review I wrote that after a while, these will be very popular router models. As soon as everyone starts moving to the new 802.11ac standard.

As for the performance of TP-LINK Archer C20, it is quite enough for home tasks. I think there should be no problems with downloading files, watching videos and playing online games. Of the advantages of the Archer C20, I would also like to highlight the presence of firmware in Russian (if it is English from the factory, then you need to update it), and support for 3G / 4G modems (as far as I understand, only in Russia) after installing the latest firmware. I have already written instructions for setting up TP-LINK Archer C20, in this regard, everything is fine. I liked that now, if there are problems with connecting to an Internet provider, the "Internet" indicator lights up orange.

Of the minuses, I would single out non-removable antennas (but, on dual-band routers, it is not desirable to change antennas), by tradition, there are no rubber feet, and it seemed to me that the indicators on the front panel were too bright. Well, there is no way to hang the router on the wall (although the antennas are rotated). Not everyone needs this, but pay attention when choosing.

TP-LINK Archer C20 review

Let's start at the bottom of the router chassis. It is made of gray matte plastic. The antennas are as gray as I wrote above - non-removable. The top of the router is covered with a dark blue plastic cover. It is glossy. And this is not just a smooth plastic, it has an interesting structure, as if faceted. Like a diamond. If you look at the router from different angles, then it reflects light and changes hue. It looks interesting and not boring. Also, on the front panel we have the TP-LINK logo, and indicators that glow blue. The logo, by the way, is also unusual. It is not just drawn, but three-dimensional. It looks much better.

As far as cooling is concerned, everything is in order here. The entire bottom and side panels are in small holes. Due to their shape, dust will not get inside the router.

As usual, all buttons and ports are located on the back of the router. TP-LINK Archer C20 has 4 LAN ports, 1 WAN, 1 USB port, and a power connector.

Buttons: power on / off, WPS / Reset, and a button to turn off the Wi-Fi network.

That's the whole review. Brief but informative

Reviews about TP-LINK Archer C20 router

I already wrote my review at the beginning of this article. I think this is the best choice for a dual band, home router. Judging by the reviews on the Internet, it works stably, the Wi-Fi network "breaks" far, the speed over Wi-Fi does not cut much. I did not notice any problems in this regard. And most importantly, there is support for Wi-Fi 5GHz and a USB port. I am already familiar with some of the competitors in this model in terms of price and performance, but I liked the Archer C20 and Archer C20i the most. I will try to consider other competitors in the near future. Perhaps my opinion will change.

If you already use TP-LINK Archer C20 router, you can leave your feedback in the comments. Your review will be useful for everyone who chooses a modern and affordable router for home.
