Why is there no internet through the router?

Good day. About a month ago, the Internet began to disappear 10 times a day for a short period (3-5 minutes). I have sinned against the provider. Recently, the Wi-Fi has disappeared and has not been restored for about 3 days.

I plug the wire into the laptop - everything works fine. I insert it into the router - there is no Internet. I did not change any Settings either in the computer or in the router. The router is already 5 years old (d-link dir 615). I decided to change it, I thought it was a problem. I bought ASUS RT-N300, entered all the data from the contract (ip, gateway, dns, mask). The router worked for exactly one and a half minutes. Then everything became the same as with the old one. There is no internet. What could be the problem?

Answer

Good afternoon. "No Wi-Fi" and "No Internet" are different things. And since you confuse them (in the description of the question), it is impossible to understand what is happening there and what exactly is the problem. RT-N300 is not a router model.

  1. Devices (different) do not see the Wi-Fi network of the D-Link router and ASUS at all?
  2. Or devices see a wireless network, connect to it, but the Internet does not work?
  3. Is your ISP using Static IP for sure? Have you selected it in the ASUS router settings and registered all the necessary addresses?
  4. Be sure to check with your provider if they are binding by MAC address. Because of this, the Internet may not work through the router.
  5. Pay attention to the WAN (Internet) indicator on the router. Is it on / flashing?

Please go through these points and complete your question in the comments. I will try to suggest something.
