Using the IP address 192.168.3.1, you can enter the router settings (personal account) of most models of Huawei routers. Also on many models the mediarouter.home address is indicated. Typically, you can sign in to your Huawei router at both addresses. The default login and password for the exit are usually admin / admin. In this manual, I will show you in detail how to open the settings page, and what to do if you cannot enter the router settings.

Using address mediarouter.home or192.168.3.1 you can go to the router Huawei WS319, HG232f, WS550, WS329, WS325, etc. What is it for? First of all, to configure the router. After purchase, you will have to configure it, and for this you need to access the settings. Or, for example, you want to change the password for Wi-Fi, or some other parameters. In this case, you also need to go to the router settings. If you don’t know how it works, I will explain it in a nutshell: turn on the router, connect a computer to it (on Windows, Mac OS, Linux - it doesn’t matter) via cable, or via Wi-Fi. Instead of a PC, you can use a laptop, tablet, phone (Android, iOS). Open your browser and go to the address listed on the bottom of the Huawei router. Most likely there will be mediarouter.home. Or by the factory IP address - 192.168.3.1. Enter the factory login / password (admin / admin) and you're done. We will now look at all these actions in more detail. There are different nuances, and not always the first time everything works out.

Important information!

There are many Huawei branded routers out there. They are installed by certain Internet providers for their subscribers. Typically, these devices have the logo of the ISP. So, there the address for entering the settings and the default login / password may be different. For example, on a Huawei WS319 router from Kyivstar, the IP address is 192.168.1.1 and the login / password is kyivstar. The factory address for entering the settings (WEB Address) and the username / password you can always see on the sticker on the bottom of the router.
On some models, the IP address is 192.168.100.1. For example, on the HG8245 and HG8240. I wrote about it in this article.

We check if our router is turned on. You also need to make sure that your computer (or other device) is connected to the router. If the connection is via Wi-Fi, then on the router the cable must be connected to the LAN port, and on the computer / laptop to the network card. Perhaps you will connect to Huawei via Wi-Fi. In this case, just connect to your Wi-Fi network. If the router is new and has not yet been configured, then the network will have a factory name, and to connect to it you need to use the factory password. The network name (SSID) and password (WLAN Key) are also indicated on the bottom of the router.

Connect the Internet to the WAN port (it is blue). This is not necessary, you can go into the settings without connecting a cable to the WAN port. But if you are going to configure the router (for the first time), then the Internet must be connected. Also, check that your device is only connected to the router. If you are doing everything on a laptop, for example, and connected by cable, then make sure that your laptop is not connected to another network via Wi-Fi. In this case, it is better to turn off the wireless connection.

If everything is connected correctly, then you can open the settings of the Huawei router. This is not at all difficult to do.

Login to 192.168.3.1 / mediarouter.home

We need any browser. I always recommend using the standard one. For the reason that few people use it and there are no various add-ons and other rubbish in it. But you can open Chrome, Opera, etc.

In the address bar (exactly in the address bar, not in the search bar) enter the addresshttp: //mediarouter.home/ orhttp://192.168.3.1 and go over it.

An authorization window will appear. You need to enter "Username" and "Password". Factory admin and admin. Or your login details, if you changed them. Click on the enter button.

If admin / admin comes up (they have not been changed), then the router control panel will open. In our case, this is Huawei WS319.

When the router is new, the quick setup wizard will open. Where you need to select the type of Internet connection and set the parameters of the Wi-Fi network. If you are new to this business, then using this step-by-step menu it will be easier for you to configure the router than to understand later in the individual settings in the web interface.

If the router has been configured, the network map (My Network) will open. It shows the status of the Internet connection and connected devices via Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

From there, you can go to the "Internet", "Home network" settings, or open the "Maintenance" page with the parameters of the Huawei router.

If Huawei router settings do not open

First, check the device's connection to the router. And further:

  • If it does not go to 192.168.3.1, then try to open mediarouter.home. And vice versa.
  • See which address to enter the settings is listed on the bottom of your Huawei router. Use the address shown on the case.
  • Try signing in with a different browser. If this does not work, then connect another device to the router and try to log in through it.
  • Reset your router settings.
  • On the computer, you need to check that the settings for automatically receiving addresses are set. Here's how to do it.

Press the key combination Win + R, enter the ncpa.cpl command and click Ok. Or open the "Network Connections" window in another way convenient for you.

In this window, right-click on the connection through which you are connected to the router. If by cable, then in Windows 10 it is "Ethernet". If via Wi-Fi - "Wireless network". We select "Properties".

Highlighting the "Protocol version 4" item, click "Properties". We see that "Obtain an IP address automatically" was set and click "Ok".

After these steps, you can restart the router and try to enter his personal account, as I showed above in the article.

If you still cannot log into the Huawei router, then see the solutions in this article: https://help-wifi.com/oshibki-i-polomki/chto-delat-esli-ne-zaxodit-v-nastrojki-routera- na-192-168-0-1-ili-192-168-1-1 /.

If you don't log in via admin / admin

When the page at 192.168.3.1 / mediarouter.home still opened, then here you can face a problem when the username or password does not fit. We enter the factory dmin and admin, and the router writes that the password is incorrect and does not let us into the settings. I already talked about this problem here.

Again, first of all, we look at what Username and Password are indicated on your router. Maybe, for example, like this:

We try to enter the data indicated on the sticker. If they don't fit, then someone changed them. In this case, all that remains is a complete reset of the router settings to factory settings. To do this, press and hold the Reset (WPS / Reset) button for at least 15 seconds. After resetting the settings and rebooting the router, open your personal account again and try to enter the factory username and password.
