Good afternoon, I bought this adapter, installed the driver from the official website, it is displayed in the task manager as TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter, but a yellow exclamation mark is on ..

From the application for installing the driver on this adapter, there was also a WPS utility, which does not even open ... It says to press the WPS button on the router and adapter and hold it, in theory it should somehow be scanned, but no matter how much you press, nothing happens, the exclamation mark is still on and I still cannot use it, as an adapter, please help, I will provide all the necessary data.

Answer

Good afternoon. I see you have Windows 10. There shouldn't be any problems at all. For TP-Link TL-WN822N v5 there is a driver for Windows 10 on the TP-Link website.

I also see in the screenshot that you have another Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter in your device manager (it looks like it's built-in). And the computer is connected to a Wi-Fi network. Have you tried disabling built-in Wi-Fi in Device Manager?

You need to open the properties of the TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter (which is with a yellow exclamation mark) and look at the "Device Status".

It should indicate the reason that the adapter is not working. Error. Having recognized her, it will be easier for us to find a solution.

From standard solutions:

  • Remove TP-Link Wireless USB Adapter in Device Manager and restart your PC.
  • Plug the adapter into a different USB port. Especially if your PC has USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. Try different ones.
  • There are many different driver versions for TL-WN822N V5 on TP-Link website. Have you installed the newest one? You can try to install the previous version of the driver.
  • You can replace the driver with another one from the list already installed on the system. According to this instruction.

We also have this article: The TP-Link adapter does not see the network, does not connect to Wi-Fi, the utility window is inactive. Why is the adapter not working? It might come in handy.

WPS is optional. Moreover, I do not recommend it. The utility is also optional. When TL-WN822N starts working, in the Windows menu, select our Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks, enter the password and connect.

Try the solutions I wrote about above. If it does not help, then see what is there in the "Device Status" section. Attach a screenshot in the comments.
