Essence of the question. In December, an Asus VivoBook A512FL laptop was purchased, it runs on Windows 10. At home, it was connected from a Wi-Fi network, a router - Zyxel Keenetic (bought in 2012), an operator - Rostelecom, speed - up to 100 Mbps. Two telephones, a TV set, and a set-top box are additionally connected to the network. If you use the network to watch videos, directly download files, work in a browser, there are no problems, everything works fine. But if you launch a torrent on a laptop, the download speed first rises to the one declared by the operator, and after 5-10-20-30 minutes it drops radically, most often below 1 Mbps. At the same time, the Internet speed also drops on a laptop and on other network devices, it is almost impossible to use. If all devices are disconnected from the network, then the speed on the laptop still drops.
It seems that after reaching the peak load, something cuts off the speed. The problem is solved simply: if you restart the computer or turn off and then turn on Wi-Fi on the laptop, the speed returns to normal, but after a few minutes it drops again. I went to the Internet for help, tried a number of instructions, nothing helped. What exactly did:
- Disconnected bluetooth;
- Disabled everything related to background data transfer in Windows settings.
- I installed another program for torrents.
- Manually lowered the download speed in the torrent program.
- Reinstalled the network adapter drivers.
- In the router settings I put the daws in front of Auto-QoS, Enable Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) mode, changed the channel, changed the standard to 802.11n.
After none of the above helped, I decided to test the laptop at the girl's home. There, with devices, almost everything is the same, except that the operator is Dom.ru, and the router is TP-Link. I tested it, the situation is similar - the Internet works fine until the torrent is turned on.

Good afternoon. Unfortunately, I will not give a specific solution, but I will voice a few thoughts. Maybe together he will be able to find out what the reason is and eliminate it.
The most important point, in my opinion, is that the speed after starting the torrent download drops on all devices that are connected to the Wi-Fi router. So either the router is giving up, or the provider somehow limits the speed. When you checked with a TP-Link router, does the speed also drop on all devices?
You have not specified the model of the Zyxel Keenetic and TP-Link router. If these are some budget models (and your Zyxel is already 8 years old!), Then it is quite possible that they simply cannot stably keep such a channel load that the torrent client creates. Try using the uTorrent program, and set the same settings as I showed in this article.
It's bad that this laptop does not have a LAN port (or is there an adapter included?) To connect it to the router via cable and so check the download speed. You can try downloading a torrent from another device on the same network and see how that affects the speed.
About the internet provider. I would still call support and ask about this problem. Maybe they really somehow limit the speed (including Dom.ru). Although, it is hardly likely. Or enable VPN download. But to download torrents, you need a fast VPN, which is usually paid.
