For some reason, some users have a lot of questions about the installation and connection of the router. In this article, we will be connecting TP-LINK TL-WR740N. This manual will also work for TP-LINK TL-WR741ND, as these models are almost the same. And as for other models of TP-LINK routers, the installation and connection process is almost the same.

I have already taken several photos of the TP-LINK TL-WR740N connection process, now we will describe everything in detail, and show it with a real example.

Connecting TP-LINK TL-WR740N to the Internet and Computer

The first thing I always do is plug the power adapter into the router and plug it into a power outlet.

Next, we need to connect the Internet to our TL-WR740N. Connect a network cable from an Internet provider, or from an ADSL modem to WAN connector router. It's blue and signed.

If you still want to connect a computer or laptop to the router via a network cable, then just connect them. You can use the cable that came with the router. On the router, connect the cable to one of the LAN connectors... And on a laptop into the network card connector.

In the same way, you can connect a regular stationary computer to the router.

If you want to connect via a Wi-Fi network, and the router is still new, not configured, then use the password (PIN) to connect, which is indicated on the bottom of the router on the sticker. The standard name of the Wi-Fi network (SSID) is also indicated there.

When you do a factory reset, the data that is indicated on the router will also be used to connect.

Address for entering the TP-LINK settings TL-WR741ND

The exact address where you can open the settings of your router is also indicated on the bottom of the router. The standard username and password for entering the settings are also indicated there.

Depending on the router (TL-WR741ND, or TL-WR740N) and its hardware version, the address may differ. But, you will definitely get into the settings at one of the addresses: http://tplinkwifi.net, 192.168.0.1, or 192.168.1.1. If you are connected to a router, and you cannot open the settings at any of these addresses in the browser, then see the article: What to do if you do not enter the router settings for 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1?

We figured out the router connection. And we have separate instructions for setting them up:

  • Configuring Tp-link TL-WR741ND. Connection, Wi-Fi setup
  • How to set up TP-Link TL-WR740N? Wi-Fi and Internet setup

There everything is as detailed and with pictures as you like 🙂

Good luck!
