Internet speed drops when connected via a router

Hello, when I connect a network cable through a router, the download speed from the Internet does not exceed 2 MB. When I connect directly to a network card, the speed is always maximum, about 10 MB. I have two routers, and no matter which one I connect, the speed is always lower than when connecting the wire directly to the computer. What could be the problem?

Answer

Hello. Not enough information. You did not write which Internet, which routers, how did you check the speed, and on which devices is this problem? Have you tried connecting other devices?

There can be a lot of reasons why the speed drops when connecting through a router. Perhaps you just have outdated routers, and the speed is so low. What does the provider say over this wire? Or is the router not from the provider?
