Good afternoon. Please tell me how to connect LG Smart TV to a laptop, if the laptop does not have an HDMI connector, a DVI connector, but there is a VGA connector, which at the same time does not exist for LG Smart TV. Can LG Smart TV be connected to laptop using LAN cable or USB cable? We wanted to make a second screen out of LG Smart TV so that we could watch TV, since we don't have an antenna, we watch everything through computers.

Answer

Good afternoon. In your case, there are not very many options. Ideally, of course, connect via HDMI cable. But if the laptop does not have HDMI output, then this is already a problem.

You can buy an HDMI to VGA adapter.

There are inexpensive options. But the problem is that the sound from the laptop won't play through the TV speakers. The sound must be output with a separate 3.5 mm cable - tulip.

If via LAN, then it will be possible to output only movies, music and photos. That is, the TV will not be like a monitor. Everything will work on DLNA technology. More details here.

You will definitely not be able to connect a TV to a laptop via a USB cable.
