When I looked at the characteristics of the Netis WF2880 and read reviews about it, I realized that this router has a full set of those functions and capabilities that just should be in every modern router. First of all, I will introduce the presence of support for the 802.11ac standard, gigabit LAN ports and USB. To be honest, I don't see much point in buying a router with more modest characteristics these days. Unless you need to save a lot, or you will definitely not need all of this in the next few years. But it is better, of course, to immediately purchase a router with all the modern functions than to buy a new one after a while.
If we consider Netis WF2880 specifically, then it is an inexpensive, popular (since there are many reviews about it) and of course a modern model. I have already looked at it, configured it, checked everything, and now I will share my impressions. By the way, I already talked about the capabilities of the USB port in this router in the article USB port on the Netis router. Setting up shared access to the drive, FTP, DLNA. As for USB, it's in this USB 2.0 router. Of course, I would like USB 3.0. Well, on the software side, the USB functionality needs to be slightly modified. Add support for modems and print server. I hope the firmware will be finalized over time.
By the way, Netis has another router in the exact same case. Netis WF2780 model. And the WF2880 differs from it in the presence of USB and stronger hardware (according to the manufacturer). It turns out that if you don't need a USB port, you can save a little. The price difference is palpable.
Let's take a look at the main features of the Netis WF2880:
- Of course, it works in two bands 2.4 GHz (speed up to 300 Mbit / s) and 5 GHz (speed up to 867 Mbit / s).
- Supports 802.11ac and older standards.
- LAN and WAN speeds up to 1 Gbps.
- Support for IPTV is declared (but as far as I understand, it does not work with some providers).
- Antennas are not removable. 4 pieces.
- 1 USB 2.0 port.
- From myself: a simple and understandable control panel in Russian (for many it is very important), an interesting appearance, good plastic and assembly.
I think for many it is important not only how the router will work, what functions it has, ports, etc., but also how it looks. It seems to me that when choosing a router, the first thing they pay attention to is the appearance of the device itself, the materials, the quality of the plastic.
Netis WF2880 Review
Since you have already seen the photo of the box in the photo at the beginning of the article, we will start with the packaging. In the kit we have the Netis WF2880 router itself, a power adapter, a network cable, a stand and instructions.
Everything is packed very well. As it should be.
The stand is needed for vertical installation of the router.
If necessary, you can place the router horizontally. The antennas can be folded. But it is better, of course, vertically. As the designer intended.
Netis WF2880 case is made of matte black plastic. There are indicators on the front. On the one hand, the company logo is the model name, and on the other, there are holes with which you can hang the router on the wall and a sticker with factory information.
And the ports and buttons are nestled on the back. 4 LAN, 1 WAN port, Default button (hole), power adapter connector, WPS button and USB port.

The router is interesting. And most importantly, inexpensive and functional. It really has everything that can be useful today. And it will hold the load. At least I have not seen any reviews, and I myself have not noticed that it freezes, loses connections, or reboots itself. As is usually the case with budget routers. I have to enter at the load that the connected devices create.
