Why does the Zyxel Keenetic II router not see the Yota 4G USB modem?

Good afternoon, one more time. I thought that I had not sufficiently detailed the essence of my problem.

Need help connecting Android TV BOX (T9) via WI FI. I inserted a Yota 4G USB modem into the Zyxel Keenetic II router.

To configure the router, I connected to a laptop (Asus K50In). Having visited the my.keenetic.net page, I realized that there was no connection to the network (the modem was not found, no updates were found). Turned on the TV and TV box. He sees a router .... asks for a password ... I enter ... and of course nothing works. The modem is quite functional (everything is in order on the laptop, the tariff is maximum, the payment is normal).

To understand it. The router was reset to the factory, rebooted. Thank you for understanding.

Answer

Hello. The fact that the Internet does not work through Zyxel Keenetic II on Android TV BOX and other devices is normal, because the router is not connected to the Internet. It doesn't even see the USB tethering, as you wrote.

I am not a strong specialist in 4G modems from Yota, but they are different (different models). It would be nice to know which modem you have. And what is the firmware on the Zyxel Keenetic II router. Does the modem not appear on the 3G / 4G tab at all?

Everything is very simple. There is a list of supported USB modems for Zyxel Keenetic routers - https://help.keenetic.com/hc/ru/articles/214471025 If your Yota modem is on the list of compatible, then everything should work.

Most likely, you just need to update the firmware on your Zyxel Keenetic II to the latest version. Install the latest version of the components that are responsible for supporting USB modems.

The link above has detailed instructions (links to instructions) for updating the firmware.
