The IP address 192.168.10.1 is used to enter the settings (web interface) of some models of Wi-Fi routers and repeaters (Wi-Fi signal amplifiers). You can enter the settings through the browser on the device that is connected to the router / repeater. But it is not always possible to do this. Many people face a problem when 192.168.10.1 does not open and, accordingly, it is not possible to enter the settings of our network device. And this is necessary for setting up the Internet, changing the password, setting up the Wi-Fi network, etc.

I decided to write this article after one of our site visitors left a comment that he could not open TRENDnet router settings. They say the address is not specified anywhere, and standard addresses are not suitable. As it turned out, on the routers of this manufacturer, the web interface (personal account) is available at 192.168.10.1... And for some reason the address itself is not indicated on the case of the router, as is usually the case. But it is indicated in the instructions. Also, this address is precisely used on Upvel routers, some D-Link models and devices called WiFi Repeater, WiFi Extender, WavLink (repeaters).

Please note that most often the web interface of most routers is available at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. If you have a router from another manufacturer (not TRENDnet or Upvel) and if you do not have a repeater, then try using these addresses to enter.

You need to make sure that it is on your router or repeater that the factory IP address is 192.168.10.1. This information is usually indicated on the device itself, or in the instructions. May come in handy: how to find out the IP address of the router.

How do I access the settings of TRENDnet, Upvel and other routers with this IP address?

  1. Your computer, phone, or other device from which you want to enter the settings must be connected to your router. You can connect both via cable and Wi-Fi network.

Important! If the router is not new, there have already been attempts to configure it - do a reset on it.
  2. In the browser, in the address bar (not in the search bar!) Enter the address 192.168.10.1 and press Enter. You can also try typing the address like this: http://192.168.10.1.
  3. You will most likely be prompted for a User Name and Password. TRENDnet and Upvel routers (and most others) have factory admin and admin.
If the username / password does not match, an error appears, then it may have been changed before you. In this case, the problem can be solved only by resetting the router settings to factory settings.
  4. Your router's web interface will open.
The appearance, language, section names of course may differ depending on the model, manufacturer, firmware.
  5. Configure the Internet connection (WAN) and Wi-Fi network (Wireless) in the corresponding sections.
  6. If the settings page does not open, see the solutions at the end of this article.

Entering the repeater settings WavLink, WiFi Repeater, WiFi Extender

  1. You need to connect your device to a repeater. This can be done over Wi-Fi (usually the factory name of the network is "WiFi-Repeater"), or with a network cable (if your WiFi Repeater has a LAN port). If, when connecting to a Wi-Fi network, a password request appears, then it is most likely indicated on the device itself, on the case (usually signed as a PIN).
  2. It is desirable (but not necessary) to reset the repeater settings. Especially if it has already been configured. Plug it in and hold down the Reset button for 10 seconds.
  3. Please note that the address for entering the WiFi Repeater settings and the User / Password are indicated on the sticker.
Default IP: 192.168.10.1 and User / Password: admin.
  4. We check the connection to the repeater (it can be without access to the Internet, not scary). Open the browser and go to the address 192.168.10.1.
  5. Enter the username and password (Username and Password). Let me remind you that the factory admin and admin. Your authorization window may differ, that's okay.
If the username or password does not fit, we reset the settings (Reset).
  6. The web interface of our repeater will open.
The settings page itself may also differ depending on the manufacturer, model, etc.
  7. If you cannot log into 192.168.10.1, then see solutions to this problem below.

Why doesn't I go to 192.168.10.1 and open the settings?

It happens that when you try to go to 192.168.10.1, you receive an error that you cannot access the site, or the page is not available. Settings do not open.

There can be many reasons. Below I will list the main and most popular reasons for which most often you cannot access the settings of a network device.

  1. Make sure that the factory IP address of your device is 192.168.10.1. A different address may be used. Carefully look at the information on the sticker, on the device itself and the instructions. You can search for information on a specific device model, or ask me a question in the comments.
Also, on the device connected to the router / repeater, you can execute (in the command line) the command ipconfig / all and see "Default gateway" (in the properties of an active connection). This will be the IP address that you need to go to the settings.
  2. Do a factory reset. Especially when it comes to a repeater. I already wrote about this above. You need to turn on the device and hold down the Reset button for 10-15 seconds. Important: all settings will be restored to factory defaults. If, for example, the Internet is now working through the router, then there is a possibility that after resetting the settings it will stop working and the router will have to be configured again. If, of course, you can open its web interface.
  3. Check if you are entering the IP address correctly and in the correct place. You need to enter it exactly in the address bar.
You can try doing this through a different browser.
  4. If possible, connect another device to the router / repeater (a phone, tablet will do) and try to open the settings page.
  5. If you still cannot log into 192.168.10.1 - see this detailed article with many solutions: it does not go into the router settings for 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Don't mind that there are other IP addresses listed there. Just apply solutions to your device's IP address.

It seems to me that most often such problems arise with repeaters. For the reason that these are usually some kind of Chinese devices that do not even have a manufacturer. There is no specific model. It just says WiFi Repeater and that's it.

In any case, if you need to get access to the settings, you are sure that the IP address of your device is 192.168.10.1 and the solutions from the article did not help - describe your case in the comments. Just please describe everything in detail. And not just: "I can't go in, what to do", etc. All the best!
