There are not enough LAN ports on the Mesh system to connect devices via cable. What to do?

Good afternoon. How to connect other devices via cable to Mesh systems, if they do not support wi-fi connection, mesh systems have 2 Ethernet sockets (I want to connect mesh blocks between myself by cable, and several devices need to be connected to the first unit with a wired connection (alarm, stationary system unit...)

Probably there are some switches, if there are, then preferably without a 220 network, in that place there is no additional. sockets ...

Good afternoon. Very good, relevant question. Yes, on almost all Wi-Fi Mesh systems, each unit is equipped with only two Ethernet ports that operate in LAN / WAN mode. After connecting to the main module of the cable from the provider, there is one free port to which you can connect a device. But if you plan to connect the Mesh system modules to each other using a cable, then there are no free ports on the main module at all. And only one LAN port will be available on other modules.

In this situation, I see two solutions:

  1. Connect devices to the Internet via Wi-Fi. For the same PC, you can buy a Wi-Fi adapter. Perhaps there is also some kind of wireless module for signaling.
  2. Connect to Mesh system network switch (switch). They come in 5, 8, etc. Ethernet ports. The switch is connected to the Mesh system using a network cable. Then other devices are connected to it.
The switch must be connected to power supply. If the switches are connected to PoE power (via a network cable). But on the other side of the network cable, you need to put a PoE adapter (PoE injector) and plug it into an outlet.
Since Ethernet ports on a Mesh system are most likely gigabit, I also recommend buying a gigabit switch. They can also be managed and unmanaged. I think that an unmanaged switch is best suited for these tasks. Plus they are cheaper. For example: TP-LINK TL-SG105, TP-LINK LS1008G, Zyxel GS-105S v2 (they do not support PoE). PoE models are much more expensive. For example, D-Link DGS-1005P, TP-LINK TL-SG1008P.

These are the solutions that can be used to increase the number of LAN ports on a Mesh system of any manufacturer. If someone has other ideas, write in the comments below.

Dmitry, if you have any questions, ask in the comments.
